Definition: A group of words, that makes a complete sense are called a sentence. Sentence has one subject and predicate.

परिभाषा: शब्दों का एक ऐसा समूह, जो पूरी तरह से अपने अर्थ को स्पष्ट करता है, उसे वाक्य कहते है। वाक्य में एक कर्ता होता है और एक विधेय होता है।

Example Of Sentence:

• He is a doctor.
  वह डॉक्टर है।
• Pari is a very cute girl. 
  परी एक प्यारी बच्ची है।
• Priya is singing a song. 
  प्रिया एक गाना गा रही है।

इन वाक्यों में वह, परी और प्रिया subject यानि कर्ता है जो यह बता रहा हैं कि कार्य किसके द्वारा हो रहा है। तथा [ is a doctor, is a very cute girl and singing a song] Predicate यानि विधेय है जो यह बताता है कि कर्त्ता के  द्वारा कौन – सा कार्य किया जा रहा है।

Types Of Sentence [ वाक्यों के प्रकार ]

Assertive sentence In Hindi [स्वीकारात्मक वाक्य ]

An assertive sentence makes a statement or assertion.
ऐसे वाक्य जिसमें किसी बात का कथन ज्ञात होता है , इस प्रकार के वाक्यों को स्वीकारात्मक वाक्य कहा जाता है।

स्वीकारात्मक वाक्य दो प्रकार के होते हैं।
1.Affirmative Sentence (सकारात्मक वाक्य)
2.Negative Sentence (नकारात्मक वाक्य)

Affirmative Sentence: An affirmative sentence is simply a sentence that affirms and positive sense. It makes its statement in positive terms. ऐसे वाक्य जो सकारात्मक अर्थ को व्यक्त करता है। वह सकारात्मक वाक्य कहलाता है।
Example of Affirmative Sentence:

• He is a very talented musician.
• They are going on a trip to Europe.

Negative Sentence: An negative sentence is simply a sentence that negates. It makes its statements in negative terms.
एक नकारात्मक वाक्य बस एक वाक्य है, जो पुष्टि करता है  यह नकारात्मक रूप से अपने बयान देता है।
Example: He is not stealing. वह चोरी नहीं कर रहा है।
You Were not playing. तुम नहीं खेल रहे थे।

• I am not hungry.
• She did not go to the store.

Interrogative Sentence In Hindi [ प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य ]

An interrogative sentence always asks a question.
ऐसे वाक्य जो प्रश्न को पूछने का कार्य करते हैं, प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य कहलाते हैं।

Imperative Sentence In Hindi [ आज्ञासूचक वाक्य ]

An imperative sentence expresses order, request, advice, prohibition, etc.
जब किसी वाक्य में आज्ञा (order) , सलाह (advice) या प्रार्थना (request) का भाव प्रकट किया जाता है, तो उसे आदेशात्मक वाक्य कहते हैं।

Example:

• Close the door, please.
• Turn off the lights before you go to bed.
• Don’t forget to take out the trash.
• Put your toys away before you leave the room.
• Do not make a noise.

Optative Sentence In Hindi [ इच्छासूचक वाक्य ]

Optative sentences are sentences that express a hope, wish, keen, desire, curse, or a prayer. Operative sentence generally ends with “!” इच्छासूचक वाक्य वे वाक्य होते हैं जिनसे किसी इच्छा, आशा, उत्सुकता, आशीर्वाद या अभिशाप का बोध होता है, उन्हें इच्छासूचक वाक्य कहते हैं।

Example:

• “I wish I had more time to spend with my family.”
• “I hope it doesn’t rain on our picnic tomorrow.”
• “I would like to go on a trip to Europe someday.”
• “I wish I had the courage to ask her out.”
• “I hope we get good news from the doctor.”

Exclamatory Sentence In Hindi:

An exclamatory sentence expresses a strong feeling, like, surprise, joy, anger, etc. ऐसे वाक्य जिनमें प्रसन्नता (joy) , शोक (sorrow) या आश्चर्य (surprise) आदि का भाव प्रकट किया जाता है, उन्हें हम विस्मयादिबोधक वाक्य कहते हैं।
It ends with an exclamation sign, i.e., ‘!’ (ऐसे वाक्य  विस्मयादिबोधक चिन्ह (!) से समाप्त होते हैं।

Example of Exclamatory sentence:
